jemm Posted 24 September , 2012 Share Posted 24 September , 2012 Were the 11th East Lancs, involved in the battle of Ancre? I have several soldiers who all died on the 23rd Nov 1916 and are buried in the Sailly au Bois Cemetery.Im just trying to pin point if they were involved in the Munich Trench stand. JimSmithson Posted 24 September , 2012 Share Posted 24 September , 2012 31st Division were in XIII Corps north of Serre and not involved directly in any of the November attacks. They were reported as suffering a lot of German artillery around the 13th/14th November which is where the casualties may well have come from. 11th East Lancs will not have been involved in Munich Trench.
