battlecry1 Posted 21 September , 2012 Share Posted 21 September , 2012 Hiya all, Thanks for allowing me to join your forum, hopefully here I will more than broaden my knowledge.. I am at the moment trying to find out exactly where my Great Uncle was killed while serving with the Royal Horse Artillery / Royal Field Artillery he died of his wounds on the 5th May 1917 age 21 years old but I am not sure what battle this would of been in. He enlisted in Shoeburyness Essex, I seem to be looking at the battle of Arres and Ypes and weather he had anything to do with the Battle at High Wood in september 1916 where 8000 british and german Soldiers lost their lifes after a 2 month long bloody battle... Sorry cannot give you anymore information at the moment Paul
