fwwjournal Posted 18 October , 2016 Share Posted 18 October , 2016 Late on this topic, but a relative of mine was posted to the 9th Bn. South Lancashire Regiment on 27 October 1916. He sailed Marseilles to Salonika, 6 November - 13 November 1916 on H.M.T. Ivernia. The information is from his 'Casualty - Active Service' form within his service records. Acknown Posted 12 December , 2016 Share Posted 12 December , 2016 I've just found this. Lt Hugh Foyster ASC sailed from Taranto to Salonika in mid-June 1918 on the SS Amazonia. I can't find her anywhere on line except for logs of warships that sighted or boarded her. Acknown
Guest John Hitchin Posted 29 December , 2016 Share Posted 29 December , 2016 My father, a Private in the Queens Westminsters (60th Div) kept a diary which I now have. He sailed in the HMT Manitou on the 6th February 1917 to Salonika. He caught the same ship to Alexandria and Ismalia arriving 25 June 1917. His photo album contains a smudged picture of the ship, cut from some unnamed publication.

Buffnut453 Posted 22 January , 2018 Share Posted 22 January , 2018 Anyone know which ship(s) transported the 4th Battalion, Rifle Brigade, from Marseilles to Salonika 17-25 November 1915? I have the dates in a relative's service record but no mention of the vessel. Many thanks, Mark
