MARYEPINSNET Posted 17 September , 2012 Share Posted 17 September , 2012 Hi, please can any one help, ? does anyone know if badges were awarded to nurse working in: 3rd london territorial hospital (as a territorial force matron) and also Nottingham (bagthorpe) Military hospital (again as a territorial force matron? Lancashire Fusilier Posted 17 September , 2012 Share Posted 17 September , 2012 VAD's ( Voluntary Aid Detachments ) were not the same as the QAIMNS, QAIMNSR, or the TFNS. VADs were those who provided general voluntary assistance/work duties in the hospitals. Attached are photographs of young female and male VADs in uniform. Mary, From the details you have provided, your nurse was probably serving in the Territorial Force Nursing Service, the badge for which is shown in post # 2 and their uniform is shown in post # 4.
