Wearing P08 Belts

Inny or Outy?

The copy of the Mills fitting intructions on Karkeeweb shows the end of the belt resting outside the belt itself. Some period pics show the end of the belt fastener threaded the other way and the end of the belt tucked inside.

Can anyone give me an idea of the various regulations surrounding correct wear of P08 belts?

For use in the field, the end would be out, for parade or walking out, end would be in. Unless the Regimental/Battalion Standing Orders say different.

Easier to release when worn out by either the wearer of medics etc.
