emz82 Posted 8 July , 2012 Share Posted 8 July , 2012 Hi All, Am looking for info on QM Sgt W Stevenson. 1st Lanark RGAV. Believe his number is 9364. I believe the W is William. I have a long service medal for him, alongside which is a coin from 1907 so suspect the medal is from this time also... However I've no idea if he served in the GW. Any info on him would be great fully received. He is either my gt grandfather or gt gt grandfather. Thanks
ss002d6252 Posted 8 July , 2012 Share Posted 8 July , 2012 I cant see any records for him but he wouldn't have a medal card if he only served at home and only 60% or so of WW1 service records still survive.
ralphjd Posted 8 July , 2012 Share Posted 8 July , 2012 Just to add and disapoint less than 30% of records from WW1 survived. Ralph.

Ooops, just noticed that I said 60% survived, I meant 60% didn't survive (possibly even more than 60% were destroyed).
emz82 Posted 9 July , 2012 Author Share Posted 9 July , 2012 Yeah know a lot didn't survive. Any idea how long you serve before getting a long service medal?
