sotonmate Posted 8 July , 2012 Share Posted 8 July , 2012 Gerry In the absence of a service record one of my long-winded methods of tying down a date of enlistment more tightly is to search the Silver War Badge Lists for numbers close to the one sought. These lists have a date of enlistment and discharge. They are all on Ancestry UK and the RIRegt comes under Cork and prefix A. The Lists contain details of other Regiments administered from Cork so it is,as I say,a long-winded exercise,but at least there is only one Regiment per page and they follow no particular pattern,but useful if you have no other lead to follow.
