Not sure if mentioned before but I have just finished 'Stoker's Submarine' about WW1 aussie sub which was involved in the Gallipoli campaign and later lives of the crew as pow's . Good read

Only seen copies on ebay Australia, but really should get around to getting a copy.

I picked mine up on special before leaving and is a good read. Has a good profile on the crew member too.

Good book on Stoker and his crew of AEII. I enjoyed reading it.

It's a pity they've never found her sister ship AEI which was lost in the early days of the war.

Although it concentrates on the occupants of the Australian submarine, it does also mention some of the British soldiers held in captivity.

The every-day-life-of-a-PoW in Turkey is also well described.

I totally agree with you.

14 September 1914 is a date I will always remember.

I still hope the AE-1 will one day be located and the fate of 35 brave men might finally be solved.
