Paul Reed Posted 11 August , 2004 Share Posted 11 August , 2004 Vol 1 and Vol 2 cover the CEF at 2nd Ypres, Festubert/Givenchy and up to the St Eloi craters. Vol 3, which is much rare, covers the CEF at Courcelette during the Battle of the Somme. All were written during the war, the last one in 1918, and published both during the war and into the early 1920s. They have much detail, and the early volumes some useful lists of names, but aspects of them should be treated with caution.

Paul Reed Posted 11 August , 2004 Share Posted 11 August , 2004 No photos, but some quite good accounts and maps. There are copies of 1 and 2 for sale in the 'Shell Hole' in Ypres, fairly cheaply I seem to remember. I haven't seen volume 3 for sale for a long, long time. I have a feeling that few were ever produced, compared to the other two.
