A story the other day said that the repeal, some years ago in a governmental tidy up of legislation, of the law of sacrilege removed suitable penalties for those who break into churches and steal.

A despicable act! I suspect that the plaque has been melted for its silver value.

All the best,

Any theft is despicable, but everyone involved in this type of theft knows the significance of what it represents.

Is there a photo of the memorial anywhere Kitty?

Sadly, the only photo I have of it is on my old laptop which I can't access at present. I wonder if one of the other local GWF users can help? I'll post it on the Facebook group with a request.

Its one more in a sad history of thefts of metal memorials.

I am moving this thread to the memorials section where i think it should properly sit.
