alanh Posted 28 March , 2012 Share Posted 28 March , 2012 Have found that a great uncle 1082 Pte John Page Cooper 7th London Regt is missing from the CWGC database, he was invalided out in 1916 with consumption, from which he later died. I have his service record from Ancestry, together with medal card, baptism record and place of burial, would I need anything more to prove his name should be added, have done before but it was some years ago. Thanks Alan

John_Hartley Posted 29 March , 2012 Share Posted 29 March , 2012 Alan If the In From the Cold project can assist/advise you in any way, please get in touch with me by PM. As Diane says, the document you now need is the death certificate. This is the evidence to link cause of death to cause of discharge. John
MichaelBully Posted 31 March , 2012 Share Posted 31 March , 2012 Hello Alan, I will leave it up to John and other pals connected with the 'In From Cold ' project' to advise you as they really are the specialists. I would just add that local papers are at times a useful source of information, though need cross-referencing wherever possible.Wishing you success. alanh Posted 8 January , 2013 Author Share Posted 8 January , 2013 Are MOD on a go slow, still waiting on this case
John_Hartley Posted 8 January , 2013 Share Posted 8 January , 2013 Are MOD on a go slow Yes. They have not approved any names for some time. My understanding is that the member of staff who used to do this has retired and has not been replaced, not has the work been passed on to others. MichaelBully Posted 8 January , 2013 Share Posted 8 January , 2013 That's a worrying development.Surely with all the Great War centenary preparations underway, the relevant authorities could be reminded that staff need to be appointed to the task? Has the connection not been made? Wishing the In From the Cold Project continued success with their work. Regards Michael Bully Yes. They have not approved any names for some time. PaulC78 Posted 19 December , 2019 Share Posted 19 December , 2019 Anyone know what happened to this one? From the above it sounds like his case went forward but I don't see him listed on CWGC. Was he knocked back for some reason?
