Hi Ewan!

My grandfather Andrew Clark was with the 1st Seaforths in India and then in France (Dehra Dun Brigade 7th Meerut)until 1915 when he was wounded. After his recovery, he was with the 8th Seaforths in France until he lost his arm at third Ypres. Do you have any info. or photographs relating to their stay in India, France or Cromarty? I realise that your main interest is 6th Seaforths but one never knows! He was a L/Corp. in India and ended up a L?Sgt. in France

Thanks,

Hazel C

Hazel - The Indian Corps in France has lots and lots of info regarding 1st Seaforths in France. Is there a particular action that you want information on? They were engaged in the battles of Givenchy, Neuve Chapelle, Festubert and Loos. Although I don't have a particular unit history for the Seaforths, 2nd King Edward's Own Goorkhas served in the same brigade and if I remember correctly the are mentioned a fair bit in that book. PM me particular dates / actins and I will see what I can do for you.
