hazelclark Posted 29 April , 2012 Share Posted 29 April , 2012 Hi Ewan! My grandfather Andrew Clark was with the 1st Seaforths in India and then in France (Dehra Dun Brigade 7th Meerut)until 1915 when he was wounded. After his recovery, he was with the 8th Seaforths in France until he lost his arm at third Ypres. Do you have any info. or photographs relating to their stay in India, France or Cromarty? I realise that your main interest is 6th Seaforths but one never knows! He was a L/Corp. in India and ended up a L?Sgt. in France Thanks, Hazel C I have the following unit Histories and would be happy to look up any info anybody may need: 18th (Indian) Division in Mesopotamia Dec 1917 - Dec 1918 24th Punjabis (4th Battalion 14th Punjab Regiment) 110th Mahratta Light Infantry 9th Bhopal Infantry 1st & 2nd Battalion The Leicestershire Regiment 2nd King Edward's Own Goorkhas 5th Royal Gurkha Rifles. Johno7439 Posted 30 April , 2012 Author Share Posted 30 April , 2012 Hazel - The Indian Corps in France has lots and lots of info regarding 1st Seaforths in France. Is there a particular action that you want information on? They were engaged in the battles of Givenchy, Neuve Chapelle, Festubert and Loos. Although I don't have a particular unit history for the Seaforths, 2nd King Edward's Own Goorkhas served in the same brigade and if I remember correctly the are mentioned a fair bit in that book. PM me particular dates / actins and I will see what I can do for you. Your's aye Ewan
