Remembered Today:

German Posters in Belgium

Recommended Posts

Somewhat unlikely that this poster would go up in English in a Belgian/French town.

However, the bit about handing in all guns, etc is true. It happened at Taminnes and the Germans promptly shot the mayor for having a cache of guns! Then carried on shooting a lot of the rest of the town.

Hi,

In all occupied Belgian towns/villages, peopele had to give in their weapons (even longbows), munition, wireless app, also foto cameras, etc.

Possession of pigeons was also forbidden, and equal to the possession of fire arms.

Police also had to give in their fire arms and sword, although later they got their sword back.
