Remembered Today:

Burnt Island

My mother is trying to find out more about a relative of hers, a Private Alfred Tibbits, who was with the Royal Artillery. Apparently he was sent to Burnt Island as he tried to desert, so she would like to know more about the place. If anybody has any ideas I'd appreciate a reply.

Thanks,

Adam

Do you mean Burntisland in Fife near the Forth Bridge which had part of the Forth defences protecting the Bridge and the Fleet anchorage at Rosyth.

Unless someone else knows another Burnt Isaland?

Aye
