Wrong records on Ancestry

Hi there,

I have been trying to look up a soldier Henry Ambrose, G/5992, PTE, Middx Reg. I have found his MIC and he is on the SWB list. I have found his service record, however there seems to be 3 different soldiers mixed up together, with different service numbers and different addresses and different ages. I would be glad for any help if anyone can work out what is what?

Seemingly not an unusual occurrence. I have read here that there is a method of advising Ancestry UK so that they can make adjustments to the records. I don't know what it is though ! Your surplus papers might be someone else's lifeline to unlocking their relly's war !

What you have come across is one of the many errors, caused by the clown who was photographing the documents, when they forgot to insert the card NEW SOLDIERS DOCUMENTS.

The images 1435 to 1443 are for Henry Ambrose, ignore the rest.

Sometimes clicking on previous record can reveal other pages for a man you are searching for, especially in the unburnt records.

Retlaw.
