meadowsboy Posted 5 January , 2012 Share Posted 5 January , 2012 Hi Guys I was walking through Edwinstowe graveyard on Christmas day on my way to the pub. When I noticed a CWGC headstone. It is for; Athur Pinder Airman 1st Class Royal Flying Corps Depot (Farnborough) 61785 Died 01/07/1917 Son of George and Elizabeth Pinder of The Crown Hotel, Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk. Born at Edwinstowe. Does anybody have any idea as to the circumstances of his death? Also there is a S R Pinder on the memorial who may be a relation he was also in the RFC and died 19/02/1918 flying a Sopwith Camel with 80 squadron! Doc2 Posted 5 January , 2012 Share Posted 5 January , 2012 I don't have time to check right now, but I think we have discussed him on this forum before. Wasn't he struck and killed by a propeller? Doc

meadowsboy Posted 6 January , 2012 Author Share Posted 6 January , 2012 I have searched the forum and have found nothing. If you could check for me that would be great. Thanks
Doc2 Posted 6 January , 2012 Share Posted 6 January , 2012 I can't find a thread on this forum--- Must have been discussed on another forum once upon a time. Back in the back of my ever-more porous memory, I seem to remember he was struck by a propeller. Can't document that, though. Doc
