He studied medecine at St.Mungo's around 1910, through the CWGC site I found out the follwing: BURGES, JAMES ALEXANDER STEWART Initials: J A S Nationality: United Kingdom Rank: Lieutenant Regiment/Service: Royal Army Medical Corps Unit Text: 49th Field Amb. Age: 45 Date of Death: 23/04/1917 Additional information: Son of James Burges, of Ballindalloch, Banffshire; husband of Mabel Annie Radcliffe Burges, of Belmont House, West Bay, Dunoon, Argyllshire. Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead Grave/Memorial Reference: VI. C. 4. Cemetery: AUBIGNY COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION I would like to know more about him, checked the NA but the diaries of the 49th Field Ambulance are not available on line...Any info is welcome! Thanx! His medals were sent to his widow, Mrs JAS Burges of Belmont House, West Bay, Dunoon. He attained the degree of MB in 1901.
