jay dubaya Posted 28 December , 2011 Posted 28 December , 2011 Steve, it reads all as one line 'dismissed drills under paragraph 272 Special Reserve Regulations 13/06/1914. I believe these regulations may date to 1911 but what the actual paragraph reads...dunno Jon
GraemeClarke Posted 28 December , 2011 Posted 28 December , 2011 Hi Firstly I know nothing about it BUT having Googled it I came up with the following As far as the difference in their conditionsof service admit, the training of line and special reserverecruits will be carried out concurrently, and these two classesof recruits should be included in the same squads for instruction. The training should not last more than six months inthe case of a regular recruit, and four months, including any training carried out underparagraph 272, Special ReserveRegulations, in the case of a recruit for the special reserve (see syllabus in Appendix II), at the end of which period the recruit should be fit in all respects, except musketry, to perform the duties of a trained soldier in the branch of the service to which he belongs. The training of a recruit for an extra reserve battalion will be in accordance with the syllabus issued with Army Order 299 of 1911.4. As a general rule the training of recruits should be begun and completed at the regimental depot.
