fetubi Posted 27 December , 2011 Posted 27 December , 2011 Hi Geoff, I've got a bit more information about the circumstances of this man's death than were in the original The Sky Their Battlefield, such as the aircraft and his pilot. This is what I now know: 24th October 1918 C2865 RE8 59Sqn ** (Lt LM Glover OK/2Lt WH Adderley DoW 27.10.1918) to hospital but died Δ Where did the info about the AA come from? I'd like to add it. Many thanks if you can advise, and I hope this helps. Trevor
fetubi Posted 27 December , 2011 Posted 27 December , 2011 PS Geoff, I really like your avatar. I was in Cambridge today at the Ashmolean and there were three stunning Greek helmets in there - complete with battle damage! So incredibly evocative. Trevor
fetubi Posted 30 December , 2011 Posted 30 December , 2011 Geoff, Thank you very much. Sad but very interesting. Trevor
g6yfb Posted 23 February , 2012 Posted 23 February , 2012 59 Squadron was equipped with Bristol F2b fighters on the date of the death and the squadron was stationed at Caudry according to RAF squadrons history. Rgds Graham
wulsten Posted 2 June , 2012 Author Posted 2 June , 2012 Would he have been flying in the RE8 as above or were they in the Bristol F2B as per the photo
