Pte 345691 Thomas Henry Fisher 24th Bn Royal Welsh Fusiliers

Thomas Henry Fisher, a native of Tipton, and a married man with two children residing at 5 Health Street, Shotton, Flintshire was mobilised aged 34 yrs as Pte 44034 in 3rd Bn RWF on 4/7/1916. In February 1917 he was posted to Egypt and on arrival was posted to the 24th Bn (Denbighshire Yeomanry) RWF and renumbered Pte 345691. After about a month he contracted dysentery and spent some time in hospital, rejoining the Battalion in the field 9th September 1917. During the fighting for the defence of Jerusalem he was killed in action on the 27th December and buried on the 29th at Kled Dreihemeh 'amongst the sangers on top of the hill, Grave No 13 (Nos of graves R to L looking downhill)' He was later reburied at Jerusalem War Cemetery.
