I spotted this in a local newspaper of January 1919, and am not quite sure what the protest was about.

Can some kind, knowledgeable soul please enlighten me.

"At a meeting of the Discharged and Demobilised Sailors

and Soldiers Federation, on Wednesday evening, it was decided to send a

resolution to Alderman A.L. Parkinson M.P., protesting against the King's

Fund, and asking him to use all his influence to quash the fund. The

accounts presented to the meeting showed receipts of £97 15s, and after

meeting expenses there was a balance forward of £5 6s 4d."
