Lorna Jones Posted 12 December , 2011 Share Posted 12 December , 2011 Following on from information gathered in another thread, I'm trying to chase up any available information on my Grandfather. His name was David Jones, born 1891 in Maenan near Llanrwst. At the time of enlistment he lived at Talycafn Terrace and was Spr 275208 in 120 Coy, RE.This is the number engraved on his medals which are in my possession. However, on Ancestry I can only see a medal card for him, in which he was renumered WR272550. I believe the renumering to a WR number means Waterways and Railways. That would fit as he was for many years the porter signalman at Tal y Cafn station. I do not know where or when he signed up, but given the home address, I believe it to have been 1916 onwards.
