paul guthrie Posted 26 July , 2004 Share Posted 26 July , 2004 I enjoyed his book on the Messines Ridge battle of June 1917. I did not think much of this one. It purports to be from the German perspective but about the only evidence of that is German maps. It spends much time asserting the superiority of British troops and tactics to German ones, an untenable position IMHO, little or nothing new, a real disappointment. I want to be quite clear, I am not disparaging British troops, never do. I am also not accusing Mr Passenham of the same regarding Germans, he does not. Guest Desmond6 Posted 26 July , 2004 Share Posted 26 July , 2004 Have to agree with Paul on this one. Fair enough but not entirely what I was expecting. Des
