wpf1958 Posted 2 December , 2011 Share Posted 2 December , 2011 I am trying to trace information on Captain George Ernest Cecil Clark who died on 9th January 1915 and is commemorated on Ploegsteert Memorial. I have got information on his schooling at Dulwich College etc but am finding it difficult to properly trace his war record. I believe he went out to France in September 1914 but cannot find much more.

Sandie Hayes Posted 2 December , 2011 Share Posted 2 December , 2011 As he was an officer his records will be at the National Archives. His brother, Captain Horace Arthur Clark, also fell in the Great War. Their mother, Mrs Chirston Clark, had a memorial erected to her sons at St Luke's Church in Wormley. Horace was killed 8 months (14.09.16) after his brother and is buried at Bazentin Le Petit.
