I came across three brothers from Dundee in the Dundee Journal recently.

David Watt Black Watch

Harry Watt Leinsters

Alexander Watt Black Watch

I have checked records but can not find out any details or if they survive the Great War.

Can any kind members help?

Joe

Hi Joe

It`s printed under the picture that they had fallen in action,

In the war Memorial Supplement of the Peoples Journal the address for Harry is given as Seafield Road,

All the best Gary.

Hi Joe,

Alex Watt was my Great Grandfather, his two brothers in the newspaper photo were my Great Uncles, Harry & Dave.

I have extensive research for them all inc photos of their last known spots etc & graves in Cemeteries & Menin Gate.

Harry (Henry) was a career soldier in India with the Leinsters before WWI.

It is still a mystery to me how a Dundonian ended up in an Irish Regiment as a career. Maybe you can help ?

I have photos & War Diary extracts of Harry & Alex's last actions. I've stood on the exact spot where they died & planted crosses etc.

It was a weird feeling ! but so glad to have done the trip.

They had another Brother (no photo) Thomas who was captured and was a POW for the duration.

He returned to Dundee & had a family of two daughters, who in turn married but failed to have male offspring & are deceased.

So My father , & my two brothers are the only living link to these heroes.

get in touch if you like and I can email some more info for you.

regards

Ken
