WhiteStarLine Posted 26 November , 2011 Posted 26 November , 2011 Hi, I am writing an article on the Kodak Pocket Autographic camera, sold in thousands to Australian troops. I have previously posted a number of Then and Now images and examples of extreme blowups to show field engineers marking Hindenburg Line dugouts as safe etc. I cannot include Google Street View images in any print media under copyright license so I am asking if some kind Pal would take street scene images and allow me to include the photo, with attribution. I still have my grandfather's camera, which my aunt used to take to school. Never a truer word was written in advertisement: Snapshots of the war-pictures that will later be of immense value-can be taken if you put a Vest Pocket Kodak in your kit. The Autographic Kodak is exactly suited to the soldier's requirements - it is "the Soldier's Kodak." Light in weight, it is easy to carry; small, therefore takes up little room; very strong, exposed parts are rustproof and will stand hard usage. It takes splendid pictures, 2 1/2 x 1 5/8 inches -which can be easily enlarged. Price 30/-. Makes an ideal gift for a soldier friend. Call and see samples of work, or write for descriptive folder. The streets are Rue du Bas in Suzanne, the Historial in Peronne and La Grand Rue, Rambures and I can supply driving directions, exact coordinates and viewing angles. Many thanks, Bill [As an aside, the preceding advertisement extolled the virtues of Phosferine as a proven remedy for Neurasthenia]
