Blackblue Posted 25 November , 2011 Posted 25 November , 2011 I know its a long shot, but after seeing some of the German success stories on the forum I am interested in ascertaining if any of the German portions of my family had relatives that served in WW1. The following relatives emigrated to Australia in the 1800s: Jacob Abel Berthelsen born 1852 Thisted, Horsem, Denmark. married Marie Wilhelmina Freiderich Tesch born 1858 Flied, Prussia parents of Marie Gottfried Ludwig Tesch born 1932 Gunterberg, Prussia (father born 1800 of same name and his father Ludwich Tesch) married Wilhelmina Fredericka Dorothea Beutel born 1831 Gramzow, Prussia. AND Herman Karl Franz Zelle born 1837 Magdeburgh, Prussia married Wilhelmina Eilzabeth Koehnke born 1845 Oesburgh, Holstein These records are what I can access in Australia and on the web. I have not delved further into other family members. Rgds Tim D
Ralph J. Whitehead Posted 25 November , 2011 Posted 25 November , 2011 Tim, I would like to help but there is little to go on and the work required is substantial. I would suggest trying to locate records through the birthplaces to see if they have any records of service, a war memorial with names, etc. Ralph
Blackblue Posted 26 November , 2011 Author Posted 26 November , 2011 Cheers Ralph, I have just realised I asked this question of you about 7 years ago...and also received some advice from Phoebus about it in May. Will see what else I can dig up. Rgds Tim D
