Hi, guys,

Does somebody know what that initials means? All of them are from Royal Navy Ranks in 1914-1918.

O. S.

R. M. L. I.

P. O.

L/Stoker

A/E.R.A. 4 Class

LCDR

C.P.O.

S.B.A.

E.R.A.

C.E.R.A.

I think they mean the following:

A. B. - Able Seaman

O. S. - Ordinary Seaman

R. M. L. I. - Royal Marine Light Infantry

P. O. - Petty Officer

L/Stoker - Leading Stoker

A/E.R.A. 4 Class - Acting Engine Room Artificer 4th Class

LCDR - possibly Lieutenant Commander?

C.P.O. - Chief Petty Officer

S.B.A. - not sure

E.R.A. - Engine Room Artificer

C.E.R.A.- Chief Engine Room Artificer

Ordinary seaman

(Acting?)/Engine Room artificer 4th Class

Lieutenant Commander

Chief Petty Officer

Sick Birth Attendant

Engine Room Artificer

Chief Engine Room Artificer
