I heard one of the episodes. I vividly recall the famous TV series, but haven't read the book. Listening to the radio version I realised with a shock that there was a very significant plot alteration from the book to the TV series, which I shan't detail for anyone unfamiliar with either who might want to listen to what I thought was a good radio adaptation.

This holds the unusual honour of being one of my favourite books and also one of my favourite TV series.

Recommend this to all. Even Mrs L likes the series, though she has been nowhere near the book.

A cracking book, I have the DVD too, and visited Milton Abbey School which stood in for Bamfylde some years back. A wonderful backdrop for cricket!

Milton Abbas village is a lovely windy road village that has a great little pub, the Ambro Arms. Always call in when down that neck of the woods as well as a visit to the Abbey on the school grounds, which is a nice little abbey.
