Tidybosh Posted 17 November , 2011 Posted 17 November , 2011 Hi!can anybody tell me if consecutive army service numbers of soldiers in same battalion would mean they enlisted at same time? Thanks!
PPCLI Posted 17 November , 2011 Posted 17 November , 2011 When it comes to answering this type of general service number query then the stock answer has to be 'not necessarily'. Whether two men with consecutive numbers within the same battalion enlisted together will very much depend on the specific battalion and their numbers. For example, below is a set of KOSB numbers, each pair served together in the same battalion - I have indicated whether enlisted at same time: 1535 & 1536 Yes 2051 & 2052 No (over 6 years apart) 20249 & 20250 Yes 29873 & 29874 No (a week apart) 200280 & 200281 Yes 201696 & 201697 No (7 months apart) 241141 & 241142 Yes 241314 & 241315 No (4 months apart) Every regiment has its own numbering quirks and oddities, so it is very much down to the specific query you have. Best wishes, Stuart
