Seadog Posted 12 November , 2011 Posted 12 November , 2011 The Imperial War Museum is posting photos of soldiers etc to a new Flickr group and inviting the public to add any information to the individual images. The first 100 are now available and to comment you must join Flickr although this is free for a basic membership. I have no doubt that members of the GWF will be able to make valuable contributions to this project considering the level of research expertise available Imperial War Museum - Flickr IWM Info Norman
Moriaty Posted 14 November , 2011 Posted 14 November , 2011 I see that Field Marshal Sir John French is included in the first 100! Moriaty
kenneth505 Posted 7 December , 2011 Posted 7 December , 2011 First World War Centenary at IWMWe will be uploading new images to Faces of the First World War every weekday between now and the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the war in August 2014. It lends a remarkable sense of the magnitude to consider that even adding 100 new images each weekday they won't even reach 10% of UK participants by the centenary. But what a tremendous project and what a solemn way to lose oneself in the faces and people.
