Wonder if someone can pin down the identity of the officer whose signature is in the attached? Povey? Tovey? Checked various NA databases and nothing leaps out at me. All/any help gratefully received.

Suspect June 1916 army list for RFA Lt-Cols is going to be your best bet. He was commanding 88th? Bde RFA which might also help

Maj Harry Turner Tovey, C/88th Bde kia 1918 (there is another post about him somewhere I think) .. he could have been temporary brigade commander as a/Lt Col; but his brother George Strangways TOVEY was also an artillery Major in 1913 - so this could be him?? Dick Flory will doubtless know ..,

Lt. Col. George Strangeways Tovey did command 88th Brigade, RFA and I suspect that it is his signature but I don't have the date at which he took over command of that brigade. He was appointed a Brevet Lieutenant Colonel on 1 January 1916 so that may be the date that he took over the brigade. Regards, Dick Flory
