Medal Index Card

Hi I recently came accross a Medal Index Card on which the soldiers entitlement was given as 1914 Star, BWM & VIC. In addition written on the card was "Clasp/51312" followed by some other writing which was difficult to decipher.

Can anyone tell me what is the relevance or what is the "Clasp/51312" refering too.

The clasp was awarded to those who served within range of enemy guns between 5th August and 22nd November 1914
