Hello all,

Can anyone help me identify the location of the 1/5th South Lancs, 166 Brigade, 55th Div, on 22nd April 1918? I am researching Sergeant William Walter White, who was killed by shellfire that day. All help gratefully received!

Kind regards

Tocemma

They had moved back into the line in the Festubert sector the day before.

D Company in Le Plantin North (post)

A Festubert

B Cailloux (post)

C in support by Bn HQ at X.30.c.50.25.

On 22 April there was a heavy shellfire on the right as the Germans attempted to recapture Route "A" Keep from the 1/5th King's Own.

Although I can't see any casualty numbers in the diary, I can tell you that 1/5th SLR lost the following, all Other Ranks-

21st - 1 man

22nd - 2 men

23rd - 3 men

24th - 4 men

25th - 3 men

27th - 3 men

28th - 2 men

29th - 2 men

30th - 2 men

They moved out of the line on 28th April.
