Occupational Index Board ?

I have just received the full service records for Clp George Boyall (I've already asked a fair number of questions about him and his brother-in-law Charlie Jarvis on the forum), and have come across the following reference on his Form B103.

"Occupational Index Board despatched 19-12-17"

George's is the first service record that I've seen, and I'm very excited about all the info and have plenty of questions, but promise that I'll them one at a time.

A brief background, George was an original member of the 1st Lincolns enlisting in 1911 (family lore had him as an early war volunteer). Wounded twice-13 Nov 1914 & 16 Jun 1915. To England with trenchfoot 20 Apr 1917, brief stays at Colchester and Romford hospitals. In June he's posted to the 3rd Lincolns, and then we have the above reference. Followed in April 1918 back across the channel. George was initally reported missing and later as "officially regarded as having died 29-9-18.

So what is an occupational index board ? Is it possibel that due to his wounds that there was some consideration to reducing his medical catergory ?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Jim
