R.I. Rawson commanded either the 7th or 8th Worcesters as Temp Lt-Col between at least 4th & 19th October 1915.

Does anyone know which btn it was?

Had a quick look at those dates in the war diaries for 2/7th and 2/8th and didn't find him.

Also made a quick search a couple of months either side and no joy.

As the third line units were home units I would suggest looking at the first line 1/7th ot 1/8th. These diaries sadly I haven't got.

Simon.

Peter,

Was he definately with the Worcesters. There is a Major / Temp LT COL R.I.Rawson in the Glosters.

He served with the 1/4th.

Hi Peter,

Looking at it on a divisional level. Both the 1/7th + 1/8th Worcesters were in the same brigade / division as

the 1/4th Glosters. 144th Brigade / 48th (South Midland) Division.

So it's possible it's the same man and he transfered or took temporary command. Then again any info (albeit little) that I have seen

about him doesn't mention the Worcesters.

Simon.
