TRYING TO EMAIL SHIPPERFABRIK

GRANVILLE

Recommended Posts

Apologies if this is an inappropriate section for such a posting, but I wasn't sure where else to put it. Over the past week I've twice tried to contact Shipperfabrik using their email address from off their website. There has been no reply which I find a bit odd, appreciating they may be just very busy. I note that on their website they make the following comment with regards to emailing them, and to be honest I'm not too sure what it means but wondered if this had anything to do with the problem?

Anyone else had a similar problem?

I too have have been having the same problem! An enquiry about this on the GB forum last week came up with the answer from one of their members that Schipperfabrik are 'pretty busy right now' - whatever that means. But it is strange not to hear anything back at all, given that, as you say, their web page says ' We try and answer each and every email we receive' . I don't think it is a 'spam filter' problem as my spam filter accepts everything and just places the word SPAM in front allowing me to choose what to open or delete.

PS: if it's bayonet frogs you are after I can supply the name and e-mail address of somebody in the USA who is highly recommended by GB forum members

I bought one item one time from them some years ago and I was not entirely impressed with them, either in terms of the quality of what I got and their responsiveness to my emails re: that.

The general impression I got from GB forum members was certainly the same regarding both.

This is to let interested parties know that I have finally managed to contact Schipperfabrik, but only after going through a contact I have in the US. Heather Schipper has acknowledged the problems I've been having, informing that they have been having problems with email traffic from the UK for a little while. This has been complained about to their service provider, but they simply state there are no problems that they are aware of.

To anyone still having problems, my advice would be to keep trying or go via a third party if you can.

Dave

I might just add that I've finally decided to get myself one of their repro SBR's, which I'm led to believe are even better than their earlier offerings, although in which ways I'm not sure as yet. Having patiently waited over 2 1/2yrs for Steve Kiddle of Pegasus Militaria to produce some more of his own, I came to the conclusion I could wait no longer.

Not all spam filters work this way.

Paul, I believe that would be the GunBoards forum. Cheers, S>S

Spot on, as usual S>S. I'd just add that for those who really get into equipment matters it does have some good sub-forums on specific subjects that you can sign up to and get a daily resume/up-date on new topics as well as new comments on existing topics. It can be a bit tedious sometimes - e.g., if you do 'edged weapons' to get bayonet matters, on any one day you might get everything from socket bayonets of the Revolutionary War (a.k.a., but only in the USA  , as the 'War of Independence') to the whole variety of AK (and AKM) 47 bayonets and the like.

Granville, I am planning to spring for a SoF SBR. they look fine and are at least available in the uk without waiting.

rumpouris that they are shcippers anyhow. They are upping their game and often offer a two tier, two price system for the anal and more budget driven to have a choice...

Before I do, can anyone give me just cause or impediment?

Hi Tim.

As you can read above I had quite a job making email contact with Schipper but got there in the end. I wanted to know in which ways the latest SBR's had been improved over their previous offering, as I know this was quite regarded in its own right. Heather Schipper has informed me quote: The SBRs are improved over older batches by the hoses are much better, the eyepieces are phenomenal, and the snaps are much better.

I've now got one on its way to me, and if you want to hold off for a few more days I'll be posting some pictures so any other interested parties can make their own minds up.
