Corporal / Royal Army Medical Corps?

Please can anyone tell me anything about my great uncle's uniform and to what regiment it belonged? I have been told he was a corporal and in the Royal Army Medical Corps. Can you confirm this from the photo and is there anything else that the uniform can give us clues to?

Many thanks

Sue :)

Hi Sue,

He's wearing breeches as opposed to standard infantry uniform, which would suggest that his duties would be at least officially related to horses/transport of some kind, and yes he is a corporal. Do not be misled by the apparent riding crop however - it was common for photographers to have a stock of these as props.

The Red Cross would indicate RAMC, but I can't quite make out his shoulder badge.

Unfortunately, this is the limit of my knowledge - someone with more insight should find the post soon however.

Thanks Doogal - I had not even thought of him working with horses or transport....yet another little bit of the jigsaw in place.
