Would I be right by guessing my Webster relative is RFA from Woolwich? I have another relative from my maternal side of the tree, and the badges look identical (too me they do, and I've got dodgy eyes!).

See below...for other example

Albert Edward Etheridge (my great grand uncle)

Yes, I would say Artillery - either Horse, Field, or Garrison, as all three badges are indistinguishable from each other. Possibly Regular Army rather than Territorial as the shoulder titles don't look substantial enough to be Territorial titles.

6 Richard Webster's on the MIC's http://www.nationala...pe=1=* 2 can be discounted right away as one is John W, the other was an Officer, 2 are for the same man with the rank of Bombardier and Acting Sergeant so strike them as he shows no rank in the photo, another for the same reason can go as he was a "Shoeing smith Cpl" later Serjeant.

That leaves the most probable 188428 Gunner Richard Webster (if he did serve in a theatre of War).

As for Albert Etheridge, I take it this is him? http://www.nationala...1&resultcount=1
