Aurel Sercu Posted 20 July , 2004 Share Posted 20 July , 2004 This question is related to the posting I added a few minutes ago (Identification of Regiment - Liverpool Scottish), at least related to the same family. I have a photo of one of these 5 brothers who were all killed in the Ypres Salient. What follows is a detail of the cap. My question : this is a Lancashire Fusiliers badge, isn't it ? The reason that I am asking is that I am only 99% sure, and most of all : actually the man is not supposed to be a Lancashire Fusilier. (If the information I have about this family, he should be either Liverpool Scottish (King's), or York and Lancaster or Middlesex Regiment, but I am (almost) sure the badge on the photo is none of these three. Am I correct when I think this badge is Lancashire Fusiliers ? Aurel
ruzz69 Posted 20 July , 2004 Share Posted 20 July , 2004 Yep. Its a Lancashire Fusilier cap badge. Just bought one! He might have changed regiments as happened quite often Russ

bkristof Posted 20 July , 2004 Share Posted 20 July , 2004 this may help too. The cap is a typical 1914-1915 stiff cap. later you see more Gor Blimey's and soft caps. So this picture is possibly early war.

Aurel Sercu Posted 20 July , 2004 Author Share Posted 20 July , 2004 Thanks, Kristof, Phil, Grovetown and Russ. Russ, Changed rgiments ? Yes, it happened frequently. However, SDGW doesn't mention that for this particular soldier. Aurel
