Jose Posted 12 October , 2011 Share Posted 12 October , 2011 Hi guys, does somebody know what allied destroyer attacked a german U-Boat close to Rathlin Island (N of Ireland) on February 18th, 1918? Thank you very much in advance.
sotonmate Posted 13 October , 2011 Share Posted 13 October , 2011 The ship was likely based at HMS HECLA II,the RN Patrol Base at Buncrana. You will need to see what ships were based there from records at the National Archives, maybe ADM137 ? It is also possible that the ship wasn't based there, but may have used the anchorage/base for a replenishment visit from it's patrol area. Always going to be difficult,UNLESS someone here has some stuff to surprise you ! Sotonmate
