Remembered Today:

CRA 14 Div 1918

Recommended Posts

"This attack must and can be stopped by artillery fire. If any battery can no longer effectively stop the enemy from its present position, it will at once move forward to a position on the crest, to engage the enemy over open sights. It is essential that the artillery hold the line and they will do so."

Does anybody happen to know who CRA 14 Div actually was in April 1918? I can find plenty of references to his famous order, but not the gentleman's name...

Any info very gratefully received as always.
