Is it Alexander Duncan or another name

I am at lost to find an Alexander Duncan who was KiA 27th October 1918 age 31 and is commemorated of his parents headstone in Foveran Cemetery Aberdeenshire .

If my maths are correct his father would have been about 14 at the time of his birth for this reason could he have had a surname different than that Duncan and enlisted under his mothers name or was he from a previous marrage and that is the reason I can not locate him on DoH
