What does S.A. Stand for?

Recommended Posts

182 CEF

I am researching a WW1 Canadian Battn, One mans service is listed as R.C.D ( I know what that is) and S.A. We have checked the South African war records and he does not show up as serving there with Canadians.

Any Idea what this S. A. may stand for?

Dean,

The only abbreviation of S/A that I can recall is: Suspended animation.
