DCM Gazetted 6/9/1915

It doesn't seem to mention the incident again. Does anyone have any more information on this? It must have been embarrassing for all concerned?

His service record survives, and is quite interesting.

interesting chap he seems to have got the 28 days Field Punishment No. ! when still under the 12dayd FD and the DCM when on the 28 days!

I bet they did not let him off the two days, or more if it had been suspended for operational reasons, FD he still had to do

Aye. Am wondering why he is commemorated on a Memorial. I presume his body was never found. Then to top it all the DCM is lost at sea?
