artillery Battle of Hill 70

I'm researching the activities of 53rd Bty, RFA, and am pretty certain that they were attached to a Canadian unit for the Battle of Hill 70 in August 1917. Does anyone know which unit this might have been? (I've got an afternoon in the PRO coming up and want to track down their war diary - I don't think there'll be enough time to trawl through all the possibilities). Many thanks to anyone who can help.

Do you mean battery or brigade ? If they were an Army Brigade, it is quite possible as a number of British Field and Garrison Artillery units assisted in the barrage for Hill 70. They would not have been assisting a particular unit, but attached as Corps assets to the Canadian Corps. Even if they were divisional artillery, they also might have been 'loaned' to the CEF: a check of the war diary, as you suggest, will tell.
