His service record no longer survives but you might want to look at service records of KOYLI men with similar numbers which suggest the following:

- He was a Derby Scheme man who attested around Dec 1915

- He was mobilised between 15th and 20th Sept 1916 and Posted to the 3rd Battalion KOYLI for basic training (Look at Service records 39794 Charles Haylock and 39707 Frederick Lunn)

- He was probably sent to France in the first half of 1917

- He was probably transferred to the Labour Corps in late July 1917 (Look at Service record of Albert Brooker, KOYLI No 40532 with LC service No 573702. He was transferred to LC on 19 July 1917)

Being a Derby Scheme man, it is all but impossible to know which battalion he was sent to in France unless you have any anecdotal information which could give a clue

Hope this helps
