WW1 Medals Wanted

Recommended Posts

TParker96

Hi,

I am trying to find the medals for relatives in my family which appear to have gone missing.

Rifleman James Arthur Gardiner

R/24410

18th Battalion Kings Royal Rifle Corps

Killed In Action: 14th June 1917 (We have his Great War Memorial Plaque)

Private Charles Henry Brett

19231

Army Pay Corps (We know he recieved the Military Medal)

Charles' medals were stolen from a YMCA Hostle in New York in the late 80's/early 90's when they were with relatives in Canada and got stolen when they were on there way back to England.

Our family would love it if these medals could be returned to the family.

Tom

Hi,

Thank you for your help. I found Charles Henry Brett's Military Medal being mentioned in the London Gazette on the 16th August 1917. But I found out that his Military Medal Must have been awarded to him under his previous regiment in the Royal Field Artillery because those are the deatails that were mentioned in the London Gazette.

His details for his previous regiment are as follows:

Gunner Charles Henry Brett

955597

Royal Field Artillery (Territorial Force)

Just thought i should tell you all some great news.

I recently discovered James Arthur Gardiner's WWI Victory Medal was with a distant relative and he said that i can have the medal. I am so happy to have found at least one of his medals and i look forward to having it and looking after for as long as i shall live with pride.

Thanks,
