Have you any idea of an originals value Ali !! I can remember when they were selling the original books and I just sat on my hands and never spent my pocket money on them. Ali Hollington Posted 7 July , 2004 Share Posted 7 July , 2004 None whatsoever, but as in recent years I have been trying (without success) to get a copy of the second book it seemed it was reasonably hard to come by and therefore I'm guessing had a slight value. Do you know if the second book is being issued at the same time? Ali

Derek Robertson Posted 7 July , 2004 Author Share Posted 7 July , 2004 You beat me to posting the link Landsturm! Ali, the new book is 144 pages long which means that they have put the old 1983 and 1986 Volumes 1 and 2 together. I've heard of Volume 1 reaching £300 and the last E-bay listing of Volume 2 reached £36. I wish I had spent my pocket money on them both now
Guest Bob Juno Posted 7 July , 2004 Share Posted 7 July , 2004 There is only one copy of the 1980s edition on Abebooks, it's located in the US and is priced at about £
Guest AmericanDoughboy Posted 7 July , 2004 Share Posted 7 July , 2004 However, probably the most well known and "best" cartoonist that actually lived and served in the First World War is the great Bruce Bairnsfather and his character, Old Bill.
