Remembered Today:

Info on WW1 Fighter Pilot

Iggy

Recommended Posts

I was hoping to get some assistance in gathering information on a RFC veteran, by the name of Cecil Batten.

I believe he was a fighter pilot in WW1.

If anyone has any information it would be appreciated as I have no other information on Cecil.

With Thanks

Ian

The NA OnLine Medal Index Cards Give Only 1 Cecil Batten with Royal Air Force Connections Shows Up:Initially,Private;Cecil T. Batten; 35114 Royal Army Medical Corps,He later became 319838 Private Royal Air Force,though no apparent WW1 Commission or even Sergeant Rank to indicate Pilot Status,there are however a number of other Batten's {different initials/fore~names}who were in the RFC/RAF & Commissioned[see "Long Trail" @ top of Forum Header for details of National Archive}

Thanks HarryBettsMCDCM,

As a young boy this fellow lived across the road from me.

Unfortunately he passed away before I was old enough to fully appreciate his WW1 service.

So now I'm trying to do some catching up.
